Would love to be pregnant...
Hello, I am a 33 year old professional in a long-term stable relationship. We have unprotected sex but it is not all that often...but this month we had sex right at the highest day of fertility according to the ovulation calendar...and he came on me and a little in me in the vaginal area...he was not fully inserted when he came.
So I am wondering what the chances of me getting pregnant with this sort of situation? I have never been pregnant and have always suspected that I am just not all that fertile. I would love to start a family and it seems that as I am in my mid-30's...every month I wish and hope that this is the month. I am due for my period in approximately 8 days, my cycle varies from 28-34 days and today I am on day 24...I have been experiencing tummy aches since yesterday and am a little more hungry than usual. No sore breasts or nausea. But the tummy aches actually feel similar to the feeling that I get right before my period starts. For approximately 2 weeks I was very tired...but this week I feel like a burst of my energy has returned and I am not tired at all anymore.
I guess I am just wondering what your opinion on me actually conceiving given the above information. I truly appreciate your help and opinion. ~Cat
Reply from New Baby & Beyond Hi Cat,
Thanks for your question. I can truly understand the anxiety that you're feeling as I went through the waiting game every month for 3 years.
As women, I think we know when our body just doesn't feel right for some reason. Unfortunately this doesn't necessarily mean pregnancy. To increase your chance of getting pregnant you really need to have proper intercourse, where your partner ejaculates right inside you. This will give you a higher chance of becoming pregnant. I'm not saying that you have no chance of being pregnant now, as we all know it only takes one sperm!
The down side is, that the older we get, the more our fertility decreases. Although after it took me 3 years to conceive my son, my daughter happened instantly! and by that time I was 33 years old. What I'm trying to say is that not everything is 'text book', and all women are different.
I don't want to give you false hopes by stating that you have pregnancy symptoms, when it could be a number of things causing the tummy ache (cramping) etc. I think you should wait and see if you get your period, if not then do a pregnancy test. If your period does arrive then keep check on your monthly cycle, get some ovulation strips and try again next month, and don't give up!
