Trying To Conceive a Boy?

If you're trying to conceive a boy, there are things that you can do to assist in the process.

There does seem to be a genuine science behind some of the techniques that are available, and they also seem to have a high success rate.

Forget medical procedures, but take a look at a set of very important factors.

  1. When do you ovulate?

  2. Your diet

  3. Your partners diet

  4. Know your sperm!

  5. Sexual positions

Not necessarily in that order, but all of the things above can supposedly alter the gender outcome of your baby. So how to conceive a boy?

Trying to conceive a boy? - Which are the 'boy' sperm?

Firstly the Y bearing sperm, are the boy producers. According to science these Y sperm are smaller, have a more rounded head and are much faster than female sperm. The downside is that they don't live as long as the female sperm.

So with the question of how to conceive a boy, you have time intercourse correctly. The theory behind some preconception gender selection methods is that the male sperm are faster, this means that you should have sex about 12 hours before you ovulate. These smaller, faster sperm will then reach the egg first.

So to conceive a boy, you must know when you are going to ovulate. This can be done by BBT (basal body temperature) or ovulation testing kits. Keep a check and write everything down.

Trying to conceive a boy? - Alter your diet

So more on the list of tips to conceive a boy is diet. The idea behind the diet is that you are trying to make your vagina a more hospitable place for the Y bearing sperm. You do this by altering the PH levels in your body.

  • A diet high in sodium and potassium is more likely to favour a boy.

  • One little tip that I have heard mentioned... If you really want to conceive a boy, get the dad to be to drink a cup or two of coffee before sex, this will give those male sperm an adrenalin fix!

  • And the last one of the tips to conceive a boy... Well, it can make a difference with how close the sperm are 'deposited' to the cervix. So there are certain sexual positions that will favour a certain gender.
