I'm Irene, 26,my partner and I was really trying hard to get pregnant. we make love every now and then but still negative. we are spending 3 years of our life waiting for our baby to come. I already ask the doctor but she said we are both in good condition, I also undergo with the pap-smear... what should we do?
Reply from New Baby & BeyondHi Irene,
Firstly can I just say that I really do feel your frustration. It took me 3 years to get pregnant with my first, and it was such a roller-coaster ride!
Do you know when you ovulate? Ovulation normally occurs around 14 days before you get your period. I would suggest tracking your menstrual cycle, learn around what time in your cycle that you will ovulate. Either get a basal body thermometer, or buy some ovulation testing strips.
Once you know approximately when you will ovulate, you can have sex 3 days before, the day before and then on the day of ovulation itself. This will give the sperm plenty of chance to meet the egg. You can of course have sex more often if you wish, but don't let love making become a chore!
Try having sex in the morning, many experts believe that sperm are much more motivated when your partner first wakes up. And try not to get too stressed about the whole 'trying to get pregnant' issue. It wasn't until we gave up trying to get pregnant, that I actually got pregnant!
