Symptoms Of Endometriosis

Symptoms of endometriosis can be very mild (or none at all) to extremely severe. An endometriosis symptom can be passed off as being associated to other problems, but if these symptoms persist month after month, you should get yourself checked over by a doctor.

  • Severe period pain.

  • Back pain during your period.

  • Spotting before your period is due.

  • Heavy bleeding during your period.

  • Irregular bleeding during your period.

  • Pain during sex.

  • Painful bowel movements during your period.

  • Painful urination during your period.

  • diarrhoea, constipation and nausea.

  • Fatigue and tiredness.

  • frequent yeast infections.

  • Problems getting pregnant.

As you can see alot of these endometriosis symptoms could easily be mistaken for other problems, so if they are persistent, do see your GP.

Diagnosis will be made by laparoscopy. This is a surgical procedure that should determine certain factors. A laparoscopy should be able to let the consultant see where the endometrial tissue has grown, how big it is, and any other factors that they need to know.

Once diagnosed, treatment can be started to control the illness.Untreated endometriosis is unlikely to get better without medical intervention.
