Peek-a-boo!

Babies love to play peek-a-boo, even now at three years old Lauren will jump out form behind a door and shout "Peep-O" and fall into fits of laughter.

peek a boo bear

Even brand new babies will love playing this classic game, Ok they're not going to jump out of their cot and shout it back! but try it now and watch baby's face.See how becomes mesmerised by your actions. Hide your face behind your hands, move them away gently and in a sing voice say "Peek a boo" She will love it.Don't move too quickly and keep your voice fairly soft, you don't want to startle her.

Baby's at a very young age won't be sure that whoever is playing peek a boo with them is going to return, (as silly as this sounds to us 'grown ups') It helps baby to learn that even when things are hidden from view, they really are still there!

As baby gets older you may notice her trying to mimmick your actions, encourage her with a smile and a clap, she will do anything to get a positive reaction from Mummy!

As she gets even older still, this game can be implemented into lots of situations. When you are weaning your baby onto a new food that she isn't too keen to try, hide the spoon behind your hand, move your hand away and say... You got it, "Peek-a-boo"The idea is that all through baby's life this has been a positive interaction with people, use it now to put a good spin on things that she's not too sure of.
