New Baby Shower Games
Keep It Fun!

new baby shower games balloons If you're throwing a baby shower for someone special, then new baby shower games are always a puzzler. The game may sound great, until you start to play it, You don't want all of your guests yawning before you're even finished the first game.

There are literally hundreds of games for a baby shower! I have searched and searched and couldn't believe what some people would actually class as a game!

Your guests are not the babies! So you will need something fun, and yet still get their brains working a little. I know baby shower party games don't need to be like mastermind, but they should still have a bit of an edge to them!

Guessing games are great, as are trivia based games. You need something to make your guests laugh, but don't leave anyone feeling left out.

New baby shower games - The prizes

Giving a small prize at the end of each of each game is a good idea. It gives the guests something to play for, and it doesn't haven't to be expensive. A small gift voucher or a pretty candle, maybe a small gift set - bubble bath and soap. Prizes should be reasonable and yet good value for money.

New baby shower games - The top five

  1. Guess Mummy's tummy size. Bring out the loo roll! Each guest should pull off enough loo roll that they would think fits perfectly around Mum's tum! The guest with the closest amount of loo roll (use mum to judge - wrap it round her tummy) wins the prize. You will be surprised at what some guests may think!

  2. Baby shower pictionary or charades. Make a set of cards with anything to do with babies written onto them. When your guests arrive divide them into teams (maybe 2-5 per team) One of the people from each team, will draw or act out the words on the card, their team members must guess what is on the card within a certain amount of time. If time is up and no-one has guessed the answer, offer it round to the other teams. Award points for correct answers, the winning teams members are awarded a prizes.

  3. Never say baby. This is a fun game and one that will have you laughing all through the baby shower. When your guests arrive hand out something small to each guest. maybe a cotton bracelet, a card, or bead necklace. Keep the items the same for all of the guests. The aim of the game is, that nobody is allowed to say the word 'baby' all through the baby shower! Imagine how hard this is going to be. If one guests hears another say the word 'baby' then she takes the bracelet or card from the other guest. At the end of the baby shower, the guest with the most bracelets, cards or whatever you decide to use is the winner.

  4. Memory game. Rather like the end of the old generation game. All guests should have pencil and paper. Either using proper items, or drawing the items on cards (anything to do with babies) Such as dummy, baby bottle, bootee's, pram, teddy bear, nappy pin, you get the idea. Aim to have around 30 items. Hold each item, or card, up for around 3 seconds and then move to the next. Afterwards your guests are given 2 or 3 minutes to write down every item that they can remember. The guest with the most items wins the prize.

  5. Pin the nappy (diaper) on the baby. I know, childish maybe, but great fun all the same.Draw a baby on a large piece of card, either sitting or lying - however you want. Then cut out a large cardboard nappy. Blindfold each guest in turn and get them to pin the nappy on the baby. Lots of laughs... You will wonder how some of the nappies get to be where they are! For a few extra laughs... move the cardboard baby slightly after the guest puts on the blindfold!

New baby shower games - the yukky one!

Here's an extra - One game that gets the laughs as well as the groans. Take some serviettes or small table napkins. In one place some mustard or melted chocolate. Roll or fold up the napkins, and get the guests to pin one to their top, or secure in a ribbon about their person. At the end of the baby shower, get all guests to undo their napkins. The one with the pooey nappy wins the prize. And I should think so.... Yuk!

There are of course tons of other new baby shower games to be played. From baby bingo, to baby scrabble.
