My Guilt-free remedy for Morning Sickness

by Marci
(Kalamazoo,MI,USA)

With my first two daughters, I had morning sickness every morning. Like clockwork, after I was sick in the morning then I would be fine. I had never thought of herbs, although I did try peppermint once. It didn't work. So I decided to suffer through it, by eating ice cream every morning. I never got to keep it down, so I didn't feel guilty about it, and it was easier than any other food, including milk, to bring back up. LOL It saved my throat from being ripped up, and made me feel better about the whole situation.

With my son however I was sick 24/7 and was losing weight. I was also having difficulty sleeping because of the sickness. This concerned one of my midwives, so she suggested bands of acupressure for your wrists. It was amazing!!! If positioned right (two fingers' width below the palm of the hand, on the wrist, about 1 finger width outward from the centre of your wrist toward your thumb. If you need to, get a Dr. or midwife show you where) they cut out all of my "background" nausea that I was having. And if I was really going to be sick, I "lost my cookies" and then went back to normal, no-nausea feeling. It was wonderful. I was able to function again. Btw, this is also why I knew my son was a boy before the ultrasound, just how my body was reacting.

Nowadays, I probably would use the acupressure bands and chamomile tea to soothe my stomach.
