MicroSort Sperm Sorting
MicroSort is a clinical technique used to sort and separate the two different types of sperm, X and Y. This process, also known as sperm sorting, can be used to aid the process of gender selection under medically controlled conditions. Firstly there is no way that the sperm can be sorted into the two types 100% accurately. You will always get a certain amount of X sperm in a YSort, and a certain amount of Y sperm in an XSort (X being girl sperm and Y being boy sperm) The Micro-Sort theory consists of the belief that the amount of each X and Y sperm will determine the sex of the baby that is conceived. According to Micro sort it's a numbers game. So a sample of sperm containing more X sperm will produce a girl, and vice versa. So after using the sperm sorting process, a XSort (for a girl) will still likely have around 10% of Y (boy) sperm included. A YSort (for a boy) will have around 25% of unwanted girl sperm included. So your success rate of conceiving a girl, a very positive 90%. Unfortunately if it's a boy that you want, your chances of success fall to around 75%, not so good! Once the sperm has been sorted, it can be artificially insemenated (IUI), in this case you would need the sperm sorting to be done on the day of ovulation. The sorted sperm can also be used in PGD and IVF. Return from
