This video see's the mother having an episotomy, a cut to the opening of the vagina to allow the baby's head to pass. If this happens to you, the midwife or doctor will normally ask for your permission first. There is no sound to this video.

This next video is captured at a birthing centre, set to music. This is the mothers first natural birth after a cesarean. A very moving and beautiful labor and delivery video.

This is a natural hospital birth, with a very happy Mom at the end.

And finally a very beautiful water birth from Belgium. This video shows a very relaxed birth due to being surrounded by water. The water is said to ease a lot of the labor pain.

While it's easy to look at a child birth video and feel scared, especially if you're a first time Mom, remember while you are going through child birth yourself, it will be different to just watching a labor and delivery video. You will be working towards a goal.... the goal of holding your newborn baby in your arms for the very first time!
