Hi Heather,
You don't say why you are scared, Do you just feel nervous about the whole pregnancy thing? Or is there some particular reason why you are scared?
I think all women feel nervous or scared with their first pregnancy, there will be a lot of changes about to happen in your life and with your body.
The first thing that you should do is make sure that you are taking a folic acid supplement. Find out more about folic acid here.
The next thing that you should do is make an appointment with your doctor or health care professional. They will work out your due date and also book your dating scan, and connect you with a midwife.
There will be certain foods that you should avoid now that you are pregnant and you should read up on them. Don't do anything too dangerous, if you normally do extreme sports then give it a miss for a while. Exercise should be OK, but in moderation and don't overdo it.
Avoid alcohol and recreational drugs, and if you smoke then try and cut down, or better still you can stop altogether. If you have to take prescribed medication for any reason, then talk to your doctor and make sure that it is still safe to take it, if not your doctor will find a replacement.
Get support from anyone that you feel you can trust. Your partner, parents, friends. Everyone can rally round and help you to feel better, pregnancy is a wonderful time (I really enjoyed both of my pregnancies) and you should try to enjoy it and not feel scared.
Hope everything works out well for you, please comment again if I can help any further.
Best wishes
