Help - Early Period

by sherina
(san diego ca )

What does it mean when you have a three day period before your regular period, and its a normal flow, just short ?

Reply from Julie - New Baby & Beyond

Hello Sherina,

How early was this period? If you think that it may be implantation bleeding then normally this happens around 10 days to a week before your period is due. Implantation bleeding is normally just spotting or very light, it could last for around 3 days, but every woman is different.
When I had implantation bleeding with my daughter it only lasted for around 24 hours, it started very light and turned to just spotting. This happened a week before my period was due.

What we have to remember is that your period can come early for many reasons. Stress, changing your lifestyle, infection, or a number of other reasons.

If you think that you may be pregnant, it's worth waiting a week or so, so hormones can build up in your body, and then taking a test. Or you could work out when your next period would be due, and just wait and see if it happens.

Hope this helps a little, please reply with a comment if I can help further.

Kind regards
Julie.
