Gender Selection - The Methods

gender selection - male and female

Gender selection is a way in which a couple can decide on the gender of their baby before they even conceive, before they even start trying to conceive.

There are many methods of choosing the sex of your baby, some are natural selection methods, others are medically assisted methods, Click here for a quick look at the different methods, or look below for more information on each one.

The thing to remember is that very few methods can make that 100% guarantee of a baby of your selected gender. Some get close, as close as 80-95%, others fall way from the mark, giving little more success than just leaving it to chance.

Only one method can actually 99-100% guarantee the sex of your baby, and this method is medically assisted, and extremely expensive.

So, whether its a bouncing baby boy, or a beautiful little girl that you want, here's the low down on different methods of baby sex selection.

Natural baby sex selection methods

The natural sex selection methods are things can be carried out by you, at home. No need for medical intervention. Conceiving a girl or a boy has never been so easy!

Do you want to conceive a boy, slugs and snails and puppy dogs tails! Or maybe conceive a little girl, sugar and spice and all things nice! Let's have a better look at natural gender selection.

Some well known methods have been around many years, such as the Shettles method. Or a slightly newer method that seems to be taking the world by storm is the Ashley spencer Method.

Can what you eat affect the gender of your baby? Apparently so, see the diet method.

Last but certainly not least, The Chinese conception calendar.

Assisted baby sex selection methods

Assisted baby sex selection methods normally have a certain degree of medical assistance. From just sorting the sperm to actually growing the embryo and implanting it into the mother.

Medically assisted gender selection methods include, PGD , Microsort, and The Ericsson method.

Trying to influence the gender of next baby may be just a bit of fun for some couples, but for others that have stronger feelings about what the gender of their baby should be. Before embarking upon any of the above methods, please consider what your feelings would be if you don't get the baby of your dreams!
