Gender Selection Diet

Can what you eat affect whether you conceive a boy or girl?

The gender selection diet works on the principle that altering your diet before you conceive could give you a higher chance of getting pregnant with a gender of your own choice - and not just leave it to chance.

If you're already planning to have a baby then tipping the scales in a certain direction to favour a boy or a girl, is apparently obtainable by watching what you eat in your diet.

Although many countries and religions frown on this sort of behaviour, thousands of couples are still trying to influence through their diet, gender selection of their yet to be conceived child.

Girl diet - gender selection

gender selection diet - cheese If it's a little girl that you want then you should try to eat calcium and magnesium rich foods. Dairy products such as milk, cheese and yoghurt, and also fish and plenty of green vegetables.

Foods to steer clear of would be, anything high in potassium and salt content.

Boy diet - gender selection

gender selection diet red meat If it's a bouncing baby boy that you'd prefer then your gender selection diet should include salty foods, and things that have a higher content of potassium and sodium. Although everyone knows that too much salt is just not good for you, so your salt intake really shouldn't exceed more than 6 grams a day. You should also include plenty of red meat into your diet.

Try to steer clear of those dairy products that are more likely to produce a girl.

The diet for gender selection - Fact or Fiction?

Some studies have shown that women who follow a pre-conception diet have conceived and given birth to the gender selected baby that they wanted. These figures are as high as 80% successful.

As with any natural gender selection method there is always a percentage of failure. Before embarking on any gender selection method that isn't medically assisted, it's always worth thinking how would you feel if you 'didn't' conceive your selected gender?
