Conceive A Girl

Being a mother and having 3 sons, I know as they grow older they will always protect me, help me reach those higher shelves, and lift the heavy boxes that I won't manage as 'I' get older! But my mind always strayed to one little thing, how to conceive a girl.

You see it's nice having 3 boys, I didn't complain. They are in good health and each one tugged at my heart strings when they were born, but it was lonely being the only 'female' in the house! I often thought how lovely it would be to have a little girl to buy dresses or pink teddy bears for, someone for Santa to bring a doll for at christmas! And as she got older someone to go shopping with, have my nails done with, get my hair done with and share some girlie secrets with.

So you could imagine I wanted to know how could I conceive a girl? Then I found this site, and in particular a certain book which gave me explicit instructions on what I could do to help me to conceive little girl.

I read the book as fast as I could, there was so much information to digest and I just wanted to get started. My husband David and I had no intention of having another baby yet, but I knew I could talk him around. I learned that some foods could change the pH level in my uterus and this could help my chances to conceive girl. I had to eat these foods for a week before I would ovulate, so I also needed to predict when I would ovulate, or better still track my ovulation properly with a thermometer.

I learned so much in those first few hours, I even found out that it's the sperm that determine whether you will conceive a girl or a boy! To cut a long story short after discovering I was pregnant I went for my 20 week ultrasound and nearly didn't dare ask the question, luckily my husband asked for me.

"Is it a girl?" The nurse working the ultrasound moved the scanner across my stomach and replied something that made me break down in tears! "YES"

My darling baby Imogen is now 7 months old, and when she was one month old Father Christmas bought her her very first pink teddy bear, and I'm looking forward to some very girlie chats :)
