Clomid Side Effects - Clomiphene Side Effects
Clomid side effects - just as with any fertility drugs there are some side effects. These may not affect every women that uses clomid (clomiphene), but you should be aware of the issues that could arise.
Side effects of clomid
Clomid side effects can range from:- Mood swings. Hormones have been associated with varying degree's of mood swings in women. Increasing the hormones therefore may increase the risk of mood swings. This is normally temporary, subsiding within a few days of finishing the treatment course.
- Hot flashes. Again, hormones at a higher rate are likely to increase the risk of haot flashes. Women report this symptom more often at night time. Try a cool shower, or a carry a small hand fan around with you.
- Nausea - Vomiting.
- Headaches.
- Enlarged ovaries. Your doctor will monitor you for this condition.
- Tiredness and fatigue.
- Weight gain.
- A change to your cervical mucus. Talk to your doctor if your find that your cervical mucus becomes drier. Your GP can prescribe treatment for this, as it could make sex uncomfortable.
- Multiple pregnancy. The risk of having twins, triplets etc stands at around 10%.
- In very rare cases, ovarian cysts.
If you start to suffer badly with side effects, Do see your doctor. If the side effects start to interfere with your sex life (either with mucus becoming dry, or mood swings etc) You must talk to your doctor. Don't be embarrassed, your doctor will be used to hearing about these side effects and can help you to work through these problems.Many women say that the side effects of clomid are worth it, especially if they get pregnant!
