Side effects of clomid

Clomid side effects can range from:
  • Mood swings. Hormones have been associated with varying degree's of mood swings in women. Increasing the hormones therefore may increase the risk of mood swings. This is normally temporary, subsiding within a few days of finishing the treatment course.

  • Hot flashes. Again, hormones at a higher rate are likely to increase the risk of hot flashes. Women report this symptom more often at night time. Try a cool shower, or a carry a small hand fan around with you.

  • Nausea - Vomiting.

  • Headaches.

  • Enlarged ovaries. Your doctor will monitor you for this condition.

  • Tiredness and fatigue.

  • Weight gain.

  • A change to your cervical mucus. Talk to your doctor if your find that your cervical mucus becomes drier. Your GP can prescribe treatment for this, as it could make sex uncomfortable.

  • Multiple pregnancy. The risk of having twins, triplets etc stands at around 10%.

  • In very rare cases, ovarian cysts.

If you start to suffer badly with side effects, Do see your doctor. If the side effects start to interfere with your sex life (either with mucus becoming dry, or mood swings etc) You must talk to your doctor.
