Baby Development Milestone - Month 3

Wow, how your little one is growing. This third baby development milestone will bring more new things your way. Including new challenges for you and your baby!

Baby milestone - Weeks 9-12

Your baby will know enjoy the feeling of kicking her legs and then stretching them out as far as she can. She may like being held upright, allowing her to stand with support. You may feel her pushing downwards with her legs as she gets used to feeling solid floor (or knee's) beneath her feet.

Tummy time is still an essential part of her routine. It should be done in 2 or 3 sessions a day for 10 to 20 minutes. Do stay with her while she spends time on her tummy, she will learn to enjoy it more. If there is someone for her to interact with, she won't mind being face and tummy down for a while. When she's on her tummy, she may now be able to raise her head and her chest off the ground for a little while. Keep a close eye that she doesn't get too tired, this activity will take alot of energy while she is so young.

Play gyms are a great idea at this age, as your baby will love reaching out to try and the grab the toys hanging overhead.Rattles are also great toys, she will really enjoy shaking them and hearing the noises.

Your little one is now at the baby development milestone where she may watch you across the room. She will start to know who is who, and which toy is which toy!She will still be trying to imitate the sounds that you make, and will enjoy smiling for you and other people. You may find yourself doing the silliest things to try and make your baby laugh! I know I did (glad nobody videoed that!)

Her hand to eye co-ordination is starting to get there now, as she will bring her hands together... You will soon be singing pat-a-cake! Sit your baby on your knee, hold her hands in yours and bring them together. She will soon learn and love clapping games.

You may notice that your baby is now starting to gain some head control, so she will enjoy those moments in her baby sling where she can see around her. Try facing her outwards so she can take in the sights. She will enjoy going out and about in a baby sling. still close and snug with Mum, but discovering new things at the same time.

Lets take a look at months 4 to 6
