Baby Development Milestone - Month 2
This is the baby development milestone where you start to notice things happen.Your baby won't be sleeping quite as much although that will still take up biggest part of her time. Don't be tempted to wake her when she's sleeping... this could cause lots of unnecessary crying.
Baby milestone - Weeks 5-8
Her muscles will be starting to relax now and she won't be in the clenched position as much. She may now be lifting her head with a little control as she spends time on her tummy. Her eyesight is improving weekly, and she may have now noticed that she has these things called arms... and they have funny things attached to the ends which she can wave around.discovering her arms and hands will give her vast pleasure, and she may spend alot of time gazing at her hands with bewilderment and wonder! She won't have any hand to eye co-ordination yet though, so she can't really make out what she's doing with her arms, just that they tend to wiggle around alot :-) Any time from now into the next few weeks, you may notice that first little smile while she is awake (this is a great baby development milestone!). This is what she has learned by watching the people around her. She will especially love watching Mum, and she would be quite content to gaze into Mum's face for endless amounts of time. She may be trying to mimmick facial expressions that she sees people around her making, although you may not pick up on what she's doing. She will also discover that she has a voice, and will be busy trying out all sorts of sounds. She is becoming more aware of the environment around her and can now pick up on people's moods. If you are anxious or upset, you might find that your baby will become upset more easily. So do try to keep your moods as balanced as possible, especially around your baby. It can be a nice idea to play some music for your baby, she will enjoy a wide variety of sounds, but don't have it turned up too loud. Your little ones ears are very sensitive. She may cry to let you know if she doesn't like it! White noise sounds cd's are a great idea if you struggle to calm baby down or get her to sleep. Sounds like washing machines and hair-dryers are very soothing to young baby, as these are all of the sounds she remembers from when she in Mummy's tummy. Alot of white noise cds are actually made to sound quite muffled, which is exactly your baby would have heard things while she was in your uterus. Sounds of a beating heart can also be used to soothe an upset baby. How about a look at the
third month?
