Baby Car Seat - Keep Your Baby Safe

Baby car seats must be used for a baby at all times, never hold your baby on your knee or prop them up in the car seats when travelling in a car.

Some parents just don't seem to realize how important this is, and I have lost count of the amount of times that I have seen parents with a tiny baby sat on their knee in the front seat of the car! Not only is this illegal in most countries, it's also highly dangerous. Don't take the risk!

Various types of car seats are available from most family store outlets or baby stores, and they don't have to be really expensive either.

For an newborn baby up to the age of approx 12 months, a rear facing car sear is advised. These are normally fastened in by an adult standard seatbelt and will come with manufacturer instructions (and normally diagrams) of how to fit them.Rear facing car seats should really be used in the rear of the car, and should not be used with an air bag.

If you have a combo travel system the you may have a base that fits into the car and the car seat then clips in on top.

Age limits and weight limits should be adhered to with car seats, when your child outgrows one car seat, go and buy the next one in the group for your baby. Try and get as much information about the particular brand and design of seat that you intend to buy, compare different models to see which best suits your babys needs.
